The 5th HR Bootcamp Conference 2017 held at Oriental Hotel, Lekki, Lagos on Thursday, December 7th, 2017. The well put together full day conference began from 8:30am to 6pm, industry leaders in the HR sector was present to dialog on the future of work.
The host company, Kendor Consulting Limited expressed their passion about people and how importance it is for them to achieve business success.
It began with accreditation and tag collection being a pre-registered event before attendees will be led into the fully decorated hall. The event was an amazing one as attendees learn, network and have fun.
The programme began with a welcome address by the anchor Emmanuel Chigozie Aliomye popularly known as MC Bonus, a comedian and presenter, after which Mitchell Elegbe, Founder/CEO of Interswitch gave the Keynote address.
Mrs. Adora Neboh, Chief Talent Officer of Troyka Holdings Nigeria was welcome on stage for the first session with a round of applause, she shared her thoughts on the topic, “Disrupted by Design: Lessons from Design Thinking”. Her presentation was explanatory and got response from the audience.
The conference took a break for coffee and snacks refreshment. On resumption the second session took place, Taiwo Judah-Ajayi, Director of People and Culture at Andela put the audience through a soft exercise to keep them active before her presentation titled, “The Disrupted Workplace: The Future has Arrived”, giving the vision of the workplace for millennial and how they will operate.
First panel session took place, the discussion titled “Attracting and Retaining Talent for the Future”, this session was led by the host Mrs Adora Ikwuemesi, Founder of Kendor Consulting Limited along side Taiwo Judah-Ajayi, Director of People and Culture at Andela, Mrs Ayodeji Ajibola, Senior HR Manager – Nigeria, West & Central Africa for Microsoft, Emeka Dibia, Chief Huma Resource Officer at FBN Insurance and Olumuyiwa Oludayo, Registrar of Covenant University, Ota.
Mr. Emeka Dibia, Chief Human Resource Officer at FBN Insurance, his career spans over 16 years in various industries, including the Financial Services,Information Technology, Aviation, Telecommunication, Oil & Gas, Transport and Management Consulting. His presentation was on the topic, “Digital HR: Evolution or Revolution?”, he opened the eyes of delegates to see Africa’s bright technological future in the third session.
Fourth Session was led by Mr. Usen Udoh, Group Chief Human Resources Officer of the Dangote Group, speaking on the title, “Big Data and Analytics: Where Are We Now?”, he shared from his vast experience with the audience the value of data.
The second panel session was led by the host Mrs Adora Ikwuemesi, Founder of Kendor Consulting Limited with Mrs. Omomene Odike, CEO and Managing Consultant of U-Connect Human Resources Limited, Mrs. Lola Esan, Organisation Design, Change Management & Transformation Expert at PwC Nigeria, Mrs. Bolaji Agbede, Head, Group Human Resources at Access Bank, Mrs. Ayodeji Ajibola, HR Director at Microsoft, West & Central Africa, Mrs. Clara Bot-Mang, Country HR Manager at General Electric, discussing on the topic titled, “Diversity: Changing the Status Quo?”. It was a long interesting session and all the panelist shared their view.
Mrs. Enitan Oyenuga, Human Resource Director for Coca-Cola, West Africa Business Unit, was welcome on stage for the fifth session to dialog on the topic titled, “Agility: Setting HR Priorities, Building HR Capabilities”, her presentation sanitized the audience view about agility in the workplace.
Last session, was led by Mrs. Titilayo Ashiru, Head, Membership Affairs and Services at the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM), speaking on the title, “Get Certified: Forging Ahead Professionally”, she made the whole attendees understand that certification is the key to professionalism.
