THE Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has conferred the consumate corporate spokesman, of Nigeria Communication Commission, (NCC), Mr. Tony Ojobo the honour of “PR Personality of the year” for his sterling leadership qualities, outstanding contributions towards the development of the Public Relations practice and support for industry advancement.
The award was conferred on him at the 2017 Presidential dinner award of the NIPR held in Sheraton hotel, Lagos, last week.
Speaking at the Sheraton hotel, during the Presidential Dinner and Award Ceremony, Dr Rotimi Oladele, President of NIPR stated that NCC spokesman was chosen after a very careful consideration of how the agency conducts its operations with zero tolerance for corruption in the telecommunication industry, yet with respect for the rule of law.
He said that “proudly took the decision to bestow the award on you in cognizance of your remarkable achievements in life, especially in your chosen career as a renowned technocrat and public servant, hence the award of excellence”.
He urged all Nigerians to support NCC as it is a responsible agency deserving of encouragement. He further stated that NCC and other award-recipients were being honoured in recognition of their contributions to the development of the nation, and that it was time Nigerians honoured those who were deserving of acknowledgement.
Mr Tony Ojobo in a goodwill message after receiving the award expressed so much happiness that NIPR shows so much love for NCC considering the nature of its operations. Tony Ojobo thanked NIPR for the gesture and posited that Public Relations practice and the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations play a key role in the development of Nigeria and the repositioning of image as a responsible country with very good citizens. He pledged that NCC would continue to discharge its duty credibly while nurturing strategic partnerships with institutions such as the NIPR.
President of Business Education Examination Council (BEEC), Mr. Mazi Mike Okereke, the keynote speaker, speaks more about “Ease of doing business in Nigeria”.
He explains that the public relation must research needs, conduct opinion and attitude’s survey.
“We must pay greater attention to internal communication. They are keys to your success. We must promote, engage our stakeholders”.
Furthermore, Mazi said that substainable growth is the key to improving the quality and living standard of Nigeria and investors are attracted to countries that are stable, who provide enabling environment also commitment to free market for ease of doing business in the country.
